Rackerby Time lapse and HDR images - May 2012

Spent some time up at the cabin this past weekend. It was a day after the last spring storm prior to someheat. It was beautiful in the foothills. THe clouds were rolling in fast.

HDR images are created by combining the best parts of multiple exposures (pictures) into one image using photomatrix. I highly suggest using it for static scenes. Samples below.

Closing out 2011

Concluding the year was a special event involving Brennan and our Circuit
Assembly. Brennan was Baptized!!! What a growth spurt he has gone through
this past year not only physically, but spiritually too.

OK so that does it for 2011. Now I need to post some of 2012 without waiting too long.

Camping in Big Sur - Nov. 2011

Here are some picture from our trip. We had a good time at and around the
M.B. Aquarium. We took one day to take the bike trail from Seaside into
Monterey. What a joy that was. Stopping of course at Fisherman's Wharf for
some chowder samples and caramel apples. Yeah!!! We can't wait for our
trip back there in September.

Thought I would share some of the better photos from 2011 before it's too
late.

Family photo we took over at Sea Ranch. We took several, but the settings on my camera were not what I wanted so they came out a little milky in the center. Still kicking myself for not checking all the settings.

At the Beginning of December we decided to take Gary and Kathleen out sailing on bodega bay for the Anniversary. That was one good Groupon.

Sucessful Surgery for Alicia

For any who have not heard... Alicia underwent surgery on Aug. 24th 2010
for a Micro Vascular Decompression (MVD). There was too much pressure
placed on her Trigeminal nerve by blood vessels causing her excruciating
pain on the right side of her face. During the surgery, the doctor reworked
the congestion around the nerve behind her right ear and massaged the nerve
as well. It seems that the procedure was a success and much of the pain is
gone now. However it will be a few weeks before the healing of the incision
is complete. NOTE COMING FROM THE BOYS AND I (Slade): Thanks to the many
family and friends who have called, stopped by, sent cards, sent prayers,
food and much more. This all has assisted in her recovery the past 2
weeks.

September, Bugs and Boys

Owen is loving all the bugs in the yard and garden this time of year. For
the past few weeks they have been catching dragonflies and damselflies in
the yard. Owen is so patient when stalking his prey, it is so cute to see.
Brennan on the other hand wants to catch lizards at other people's houses.
Either way they both are enjoying some much needed time outside (as little
boys). A week ago or so we listened intently as Owen explained how he was
going to catch a hummingbird out back. He said, "I'm going to take some of
your plant (lantana) and hold it over my head real still until he tries to
stick his beak in it, then I will catch him." Sound like a good plan to me.
